BottomLINE Foundation – Reach out and Touch - was founded in 2008 when we felt a need to help the poor and helpless to gain an advantage in the society.
BottomLINE as an organization has always engaged in building individuals beyond their perceived potential. We have never believed in “ready-mades”. Every personality has an innate value within them and they are only seeking a platform or an opportunity to showcase their God’s given potential.
The goal of BottomLINE is to be an information platform utilized by people to exceed their expectations. Valuable information is sourced from all available sources – books, magazines, news papers, news, the internet. Wherever there is a piece of information, BottomLINE will exhume it and present it to its reading audience.
How the idea came about
In mingling with the under privileged of the society the founder of the Foundation saw the continued poverty trend of the underprivileged from generation to generation. She noticed that because of their family backgrounds education was not of importance to them. According to a survey, carried out by an Australian Charity Organisation, it was discovered that despite providing families with the much needed basic amenities, most families still find it very hard to break free from the chain of poverty.
From the survey it was only with education that you can improve the life style of the families of the poor. The idea behind the foundation is to teach people to fish rather than give them fish. Their inability to fund fees such as JAMB or WAEC and tuition fees results in a very high rate of drop outs from school. Therefore we can only help them by encouraging them to get educated and lift themselves and their family from the poverty chain.
How did we get to where we are today?
BottomLINE started business operation from nothing and grew its clientele base painstakingly one customer at a time, to get to where we are today. It was a tedious but humbling experience. Hence, we feel for the poor who need to have a voice and an opportunity to break out of the poverty line. What more can we give back?
The cry of the underprivileged is “Help us help our children to get an education - so they can help themselves.” |
